Trail running has always been in our USOLE DNA! We were the first running store in Chicago to bring trail racing to the Chicago running community. These trail races are great courses for folks wanting to get off the roads and enjoy some of our beautiful trails, but not have to be an expert trail runner to get to the finish. Our trail races are very laid back and great fun for the entire family, making it fun & easy for all! The USOLE Trail Challenge is great for people of all ages and all abilities looking to change up the running routine and get “off” the roads! We are now the first to bring you a dog friendly trail race just for our canine friends! Welcome to the first ever Universal Sole T(r)AIL Challenge Doggy Trail Race, September 1st @ Schiller Woods - West Reserve (Grove #3)!
Trail Race Location:
September 1st, 2018 – The USOLE T(r)AIL Challenge will be held @ Schiller Woods - West Forest Preserve (Grove #3) up near O’Hare airport! This is a new course that will be dog friendly and about 5k in length! Perfect for those wanting to run or walk and hitting the beautiful Des Plaines River Trail with yours and other canine friends!
REGISTRATION DETAILS:
  • Until Midnight 5/14 - $25.00
  • Until Midnight 6/17 - $30.00
  • Until Midnight 7/30 - $33.00
  • Race Day Registration - $40.00
RACE DETAILS
  • Register for the USOLE T(r)AIL Challenge and get a custom USOLE T(r)AIL Challenge Doggy food/water bowl & other goodies!
  • Courses will be trail & off road with crushed limestone, dirt, rocks, & roots.
  • All dogs either running the race or on-site must be leashed and with owner or a guardian at all times! Please note that this will be "doggy" social setting so please take precautions and careful awareness when socializing your dog with others at this trail event.
  • Race will begin promptly @ 9am! Race day pickup & registration will begin @ 7:45am
  • Weather Issues: In the case of inclement weather, the only time we will delay a race or consider any action is in the presence of lightening. All other weather (rain, snow, tons of snow, tons of rain, etc) we will run the race. After all, this is trail running and some inclement weather makes it that much more fun!
  • If you are registering day of the race, the entry is $40 and can be paid by cash or credit card only.
  • Water and NUUN Hydration Drink at the Start/finish line. We will also have water trough for the dogs to drink and cooling pools if needed as well.
  • Clif Bars & Bananas will be at the finish.
  • Once again, our beer partner Odell Brewing will fine adult beverages on-site after the run.
  • We will possibly have a food truck or maybe two on-site as well for folks to grab some eats after the trail run (This will be TBD depending on how many participants we have registered at time of race).
  • Race day gear check will be at the Universal Sole Tents
  • Parking Info: Plenty of parking in the forest preserve parking lots!
  • Directions To Race Site: From I-294 take the Irving Park Road exit east. From I-90, take the Cumberland Avenue exit south to Irving Park. Entrances for Schiller Woods West entrance is along Irving Park Road (right turn into the grove). We will be at Grove # 3.

Packet Pick-up: Packet pick-up will be available on race day. Pre-race packet pick-up will be held at Road Runner Sports - Chicago location, Friday August 31st from 1pm-7pm!
Post Race Brews: Once the races are over, brews for everyone! Our beer sponsor Odell Brewing will be on-site with some delicious brews for all adults (over 21) to drink.
