The Universal Sole Four Mile classic is back, Thursday night, May 1, 2025! Chicago's only four mile race will have a familiar look for 2025. We are excited to be back in the city and at one of our favorite places, Montrose Harbor. We invite you all to join us as we kick off the summer season of racing!

Race Beneficiary: Girls In The Game -- Girls In the Game knows that girls are strong. And that given the opportunity they’re capable of changing their lives and their communities. All they need is a chance. Unfortunately, research tells us that, compared to boys, they aren’t always given those opportunities. So in 1995, GIG founders set out to level the playing field for all girls.   • Four Mile Classic Pricing:

  • Race course will be a 4 mile flat & fast loop course on Chicago's beautiful lakefront path (see course map on this page). Race start and finish will be at Montrose Harbor.
  • Race will begin promptly @ 7:00pm! On-site check-in/registration will begin @ 5:00pm and close promptly @ 6:30pm.
  • Weather Issues: In the case of inclement weather, the only time we will delay a race or consider any action is in the presence of lightning. All other weather (rain, snow, tons of snow, tons of rain, etc) we will run the race.
  • Water at the Start/finish area! In addition, there will be (1) aid stations on course (at the 2 mile turnaround).
  • Granola Bars, Bananas will be provided along with other goodies from our sponsors (in vendor area).
  • Race day gear check will be at the Universal Sole Tents
  • Parking Info: Plenty of Parking @ Montrose Harbor
  • Montrose can be accessed by the CTA Bus Line and also DIVVY Bikes (DIVVY Bike station at the start line).

Post Race - Brews & Fun!
A post race party will follow the USOLE Four Mile Classic at a one of our favorite running hang outs, Bitter Pops Bottle Shoppe (3357 N. Lincoln Ave). We will have a post race bash to toast our race returning to Chicago and celebrate post USOLE Four Mile Classic. All registered runners will receive one complementary brew (be sure to bring you race number with you) from our craft beer sponsor, Solemn Oath Brewing. Bitter Pops will also keep the kitchen open for those folks looking to get a bite to eat at the post race party. We will host our raffle as well at Bitter Pops throughout the evening. Join us for the run, then join us post race for the run at Bitter Pops!

Strollers & Dogs: Strollers and leashed dogs are happily allowed, we ask that you start in the back of the start line corral.

BRING OLD RUNNING SHOES OUT TO THE RACE TO RECYCLE!
Reduce Waste Chicago is a nonprofit organization that empowers residents to address climate change through waste reduction on a personal, producer, and policy level. They host Reuse & Recycling Pop-Up events across the city, where they collect a selection of items that can be reused, repurposed, or are difficult to recycle. Reduce Waste Chicago will be out at USOLE races accepting running shoes for recycling (athletic shoes only; please no packaging, bags, boxes, etc.) For more information, click here.
