The USOLE Burgers & Beer Twilight Trail Challenge

We don't want to lose another year of not being able to get in one of our most popular USOLE races! We decided for 2021, to take Burgers & Beer off the roads and over to one of our favorite trail locations...Wolf Road Woods. We will be tackling a BRAND NEW USOLE 4.5 mile trail course for this race. This course will have a great mix of double & single track along with undulating terrain in the beautiful Palos Trail System! It may have a small hill or two to climb as well, but fun will always be had! USOLE Trail Challenge races are a great way to see the trails, get your long run and enjoy camaraderie with your trail running friends! 

Race Details:
  • USOLE Burgers & Beer Twilight Trail Challenge:
    • ONE PRICE THROUGH RACE DAY - $50.00
    • We WILL have race evening registration for folks as well.
    • No exchanges or refunds
  • THE GOODS:
    • Every registered runner will get a custom logo'd church key bottle opener and a custom Twilight Trail Challenge buff to go along with a delicious catered & grilled Burger (or Veggie Option) and a fine Craft Brew (alcohol or non-alcohol) or a Craft Seltzer to wash it all down!
  • Courses will be trail & off road with crushed limestone, dirt, rocks, & roots...and maybe some mud. Fun is the name of the game!
  • Race will begin promptly @ 5:00pm! Race day pickup & registration will begin @ 3:00pm!
  • Weather Issues: In the case of inclement weather, the only time we will delay a race or consider any action is in the presence of lightning. All other weather (rain, snow, tons of snow, tons of rain, cold, really cold, etc) we will run the race. After all, this is trail running and some inclement weather makes it that much more fun!
  • Magnesia Natural Mineral Water at the Start/finish line. Due to Cook County Forest Preserve regulations and COVID-19 guidelines, we are not allowed to have any aid station in the trails. We will have an aid station at the start/finish line so you can fill up any bottles prior to the start of the race. It is highly recommended you come with your own bottle or hydration pack option.
  • Granola Bars & bananas will be at the start/finish lines for all participants.
  • Refreshing Solemn Oath Brewing & Athletic Brewing craft brews will be given to all runners after the race in a socially distant manner. We will also have City Water Hard Seltzer for all to enjoy as well.
  • Race day gear check will be at the Universal Sole Tents
  • Parking Info: Plenty of parking in the forest preserve parking lots!
  • Directions to race site:
    • (Wolf Road Woods) - Coming from the north, take I-55 to Exit 279A, southbound La Grange Road. Drive south for roughly 2 miles and exit south onto Archer Avenue to 95th. Left on 95th and take that to the split and veer a soft right to the Forest Preserve Entrance/Wolf Road. Follow Wolf Road through the first stop sign and head all the way down until the road ends to Wolf Road Woods. Make a right turn and head down to the end of the grove and look for our USOLE Tents Set Up (Grove two).

  • Overall for Male & Female will receive custom award tiles.
  • Age Group Awards, Top three in each age group: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
  • Post race raffle with great prizes from Universal Sole & all of our sponsors to be held at our post race party on-site!

Packet Pick-up & Race Day Registration:

-August 6th, 2021 - Heartbreak Hill Running Company (1pm-7pm)
*Packet pick-up will also be available on race evening starting @ 4:00pm from the USOLE Tents.

Post Race - Legendary Burgers & Beers & Fun!
Once the races are over, we will have our legendary catered and delicious USOLE Burgers (and/or veggie burgers) along with Solemn Oath craft brews and Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic brews for everyone! City Water Hard Seltzer will also be on hand to help hydrate folks after the run. Burgers & Beer has always been about fun, hanging out and enjoying some great running and super chill and hanging when the races are all over. We will have a killer raffle for all runners with some really cool prizes from all of our sponsors as well during the evening. Come for the (trail) run, stay for the Burgers & Beer fun!
COVID-19 Updated Rules & Regulations:
  • If you are fully vaccinated, we will have no mask requirement in place for our races. If you are not vaccinated, we urge you to wear a mask and social distance as necessary. We will operate on the honor system and will not be asking for any proof of vaccination.
  • This will be a mass start race and everyone will start together in the start/finish corral. We will have chip timing, so anyone that wants to start after the mass start can feel free to do so as your time will start once you cross the start line.
  • Please be responsible for any activities pre and post race (selfies, group selfies, etc).
  • Persons from high-risk groups for COVID-19 (that are not vaccinated) complications should consult their physician before participating.
  • Do not participate if you are feeling sick or ill, and or have a fever, or if you have been in contact with someone unrecovered from COVID-19.

Strollers & Dogs: Strollers and leashed dogs are allowed, we ask that you start in the last start time corral.
