| Description: |
**UPDATE! ALL FINISHERS ARE GETTING A MEDAL WITH AN INCORPORATED BEER BOTTLE OPENER!**
WE'RE BACK! And, this time we're legal! That's right, the 3rd Annual F^ing Freezing Frozen Lake Half Marathon and 5k is official with proper permits, timing, race support, sponsor benefits - EVERYTHING!
Most importantly, this event will still have the grass-roots feel that we at F^3 Events feel is so important and core to our philosophy.
Your registration fee covers all race particulars and will get you entry (and bragging rights for life) to the event that in 2010 became Chicago's first ever January half marathon!
All participants will get the 2012 gender specific race shirt (design/ logo to be released in 2012).
We will have a warm tent feature so that athletes and volunteers alike will be able to keep warm during and after the event, thanks to our sponsor Warmup PLC for this amazing feature!
After the race, we will head to a drinking establishment for our usual after-party debauchery (isn't this why we all do this?) with the first pint on Goose Island! We will do the awards ceremony (complete with national anthems) and amazing raffle at the after party! |

| Parking: |
Parking is available along North Simonds Drive and can be accessed off Lake Shore Drive via the Montrose and Foster exits. N Simonds Drive runs parallel to Lake Shore Drive on the east side.
We HIGHLY recommend the use of public transportation (for environmental reasons) and allowing plenty of travel time in order to avoid congestion and being late to the race. |

|
| Awards Info: |
There will be special trophies for the top male and female and then medals for the 2nd and 3rd place male and females. Depending on numbers, we may do age group awards too.
There will also be a prize for the top teams (one all male, one female and one mixed) |

| Twitter TWaining: |
For those of you that are the anti-social type (or just aren't local to Chicago), consider virtually TWaining with NYC's very own @SpeedySasquatch (aka Josh Maio)! Josh has training programs available for our race and you can always 'tweet' him when you need advice or have questions. When you register for the race and opt for this training program, you'll become an exclusive member of #TeamSasquatch! Fun Director Ken Chin (aka @daRevoluCHIN ) is actually one of his pupils! For more information, send a message to TeamSasquatch@f3running.com.
Here are some tidbits about @SpeedySasquatch:
* Created a free Twitter-based running group in NYC that does speedwork, tempo, and long run trainings.
* 6-time BQer
* Paced out 6 other Boston Qualifiers
* Served on the expert panel at the 2010 Marine Corps Marathon 1st Time Marathoner's Q & A representing Brooks |
