Training Program : I-Runs presents the 2008 Univeersal Sole Lakefront 10 Training program. The 12 week program is designed to nurture eunners from entry-level starting poin to the finish line.

AWARDS
All finishers will receive a unique finishers medal. Reebok merchandise
for overall top three male and female finishers and top three in each
of the following standard
Cara age groups:<14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49,
50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74. 75-79, 80 and over.
PRIZE MONEY Universal Sole will offer the following prize money for the 10 Miler. Over $1,800 will be awarded at the 2007 Universal Sole Lakefront 10. Prize money will be awarded to the top 5 overall men and women. Prize money breakdown is as follows open men and women 1st place=$300, 2nd place=$200, 3rd place=$150, 4th place=$100, 5th place=$50. $100. bonus to all runners who run under the current course records of 49:24 (2006) for men and 59:04 (Jamie Krzyminski 2006)for women.

Packet Pick-up at Universal Sole
Packet Pick-up will be at Universal Sole, 3052 N. Lincoln Ave (1.5 blocks south of the corner of Lincoln/Belmont/Ashland). Plenty of Street parking plus 2 City of Chicago lots (located on Greenview north of Lincoln and Barry St west of Lincoln. Each 1/2 block from store)
Packet pick-up starts TUESDAY, April 22nd at noon and continues until SATURDAY, April 26TH 6 PM during store hours. Universal Sole Store hours Mon-Fri 10 AM to 8 PM, Sat. 10 AM to 6 PM, Sun. Noon to 5 PM.
IF YOU REGISTER ONLINE AFTER 6 PM ON MONDAY, APRIL 21st PLEASE WAIT 24 HOURS TO PICK-UP YOUR RACE MATERIALS.
RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP AND CHIP PICK-UP
RACE DAY PACKET PICK-UP WILL BE HELD AT MONTROSE BEACH HOUSE FROM 6:45 AM TO 7:55 AM. THE RACE WILL BE CHIP TIMED, SO ALLOW ENOUGH TIME TO PICK-UP BIB AND CHAMPION CHIP.

COURSE The Lakefront 10 features a scenic, paved course that starts on Simonds Drive north to Foster Beach and enters the beachfront sidewalk. Runners will follow the sidewalk north, then turn south before Hollywood Ave. The race will finish on the path next to Simonds drive near the start. All post race events are located adjacent to the Montrose Beach house. The course is USATF certified and sanctioned, USATF Certification numberIL-02024-JW.
For the safety of all runners, participants are NOT allowed to run with baby joggers or animals.
MILE MARKERS / SPLIT TIMES Mile markers and splits will be given at each mile. AID STATIONS Water and Clif Shot Replacement Drink will be provided at the start, on the course and at the finish. Aid stations are near the 2.5, 4, 6, and 8.5 mile markers.
CLIF-SHOT STATION Energy gel and Clif Shot blocs will be available on the course just before the 6 mile aid station.
BRIGHTROOM RACE PHOTOGRAPHY Within a week of the race, participants photographed by Brightroom can view and purchase their photo on-line at: www.brightroom.com.
CHAMPION CHIP TIMING For the second year in a row The Universal Sole will have Champion Chip timing at the Lakefront 10 Miler. All runner must check in at the Champion Chip tent on race morning to pick up their timing chip. Any participant who does not return his or her Champion chip will be charged $35.00
Take the CTA and PARKING INFO Take the CTA to the Lakefront 10. The following bus lines will get you near the start; 78-Montrose, 151-Sheridan, 81-Lawrence, 145-Wilson/Michigan, 146-Marine/Michigan and the 36-Broadway bus. Or take the Red Line Subway to Wilson and head east, about 1 mile, to the start. Public parking is FREE at event location. To get to Montrose Harbor, exit Lake Shore Drive at Montrose Ave. Drive east on Montrose to the parking lot east of the hill. The Lakefront 10 Miler starts and finishes at Montrose Ave. and Simonds Dr. Montrose Ave will be closed at approximately 7:20 AM. After 7:20 park in Wilson St. Parking Lot.
RACE RESULTS Race results will be available on-line at www.chicagoaa.com and www.universalsole.com after the race. Official race results will be mailed within a week of the race.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Volunteers are key to every successful race. If youčre not going to run, please help your fellow runners by volunteering. For your help you will receive a Reebok PlayDry shirt, plus an invitation to a volunteer party at Goose Island Brew Pub.
